Are you in town for the Chicago Dental Midwinter Meeting? Here the top 3 Chicago attractions worth visiting on your trip.

1. Millennium Park

No visit to Chicago would be complete without a stop at Millennium Park.  When you hear about a friend visiting Chicago, chances are you will see a photo of them next to the Crown Fountain and the Cloud Gate, better known as “The Bean.” This is with good reason. Designed by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, the Crown Fountain features two 50-foot towers facing off against each other across a shallow reflecting pool. British artist Anish Kapoor created cloud Gate, a110-ton bean-shaped sculpture forged from stainless steel. The Bean’s elliptical shape reflects the Chicago skyline making for a great site.  Also open during the show is the McCormick Tribune Ice Rink in the middle of the park, which would make a great activity after the show each day. The ice rink is open Mondays-Thursdays, 12 Noon—8pm Fridays, 12 Noon—10pm and Saturdays 10am—10pm. Millennium Park is open daily and is free to the public.

2. Deep Dish Pizza Restaurants

When you think of Chicago’s food scene, one of the first things that should come to your mind is pizza. You can find Chicago’s iconic deep-dish style pizza practically on every street corner in the city. We’ve sorted out the best of the best with locations near the show. Here are 4 great pizza joints all within 4 miles of the McCormick Place West building.

  • Lou Malnati’s- 805 S. State Street (1.7 Miles)
  • Giordano’s- 223 W. Jackson Blvd (2.5 miles)
  • Pizzeria Uno- 29 East Ohio (3.3 miles)
  • Gino’s East- 162 E. Superior St. (3.9 miles)

3. Willis Tower Skydeck

With more than one million people visiting its observation deck each year, the Willis Tower Skydeck is one of Chicago’s most popular tourist destinations. The Willis tower is the second tallest building in the United States at 1,451 feet.  The highlight for most visitors is the Ledge. Extending outward from the Skydeck, the ledge walls and even the floor are made entirely of see through glass.  Visitors can enjoy views of up to 50 miles and into four states while standing on the 103rd floor of the tower.  The Skydeck is open 365 Days a year from10am-8pm.
